I’ve seen different information on the exact date of Ashura. Some says Ashura begins by the night of Sep. Muharram is the month after Hajj. The processions and mourning happens on the 9th and 10th of Muharram. So basically 19th and 20th Sep. So if I arrive in the afternoon of 20th am I supposed to witness the blood spill scene during the night of 20th and the morning of 21st?

I booked a return flight to Bahrain and the outbound flight was exactly 6 months until my passport expiry date. My eVisa was approved. When I booked I hadn’t really thought about my passport expiry so this was simply just luck. Unfortunately a family situation arose and I had to push my flight back by just over a week and it was then I realised the passport expiry date issue. As my visa has already been approved will this now be an issue as my passport now expires about 10 days short of the 6 months?
I have my return tickets I can show I’ll only be there for 8 days total. Would it be better to contact the visa team and explain and hope they accept the situation, or should I continue my plans and explain on arrival if I’m asked???

I have a question about the Bahrain visa for someone visiting from the UK. I applied for a visa on 21st May and during the application process it said I needed to enter Bahrain before 20th June, not a problem as I’m travelling on 19th June. My visa was approved on 22nd May, and I’ve just been printing all my documents off and wondered, does my 1 month visa start from the date it was approved, or the date I enter the Country?
On my visa is has an Expiry date of 21 June, and says ‘The Visa Expiry Date is the latest date on which you may enter Bahrain with this visa’, which leads me to think that my 1 month starts from my arrival date in Bahrain? My husband and I will be visiting Manama for 2. I have checked the TA Bahrain forum dating back for more than a year but was unable to get any help from prior visitors. Am I right thinking that we can only see the mosque on Saturday, November 29th because it will be closed on Friday? I read about free tours of the mosque but cannot find when the tours are offered. Does someone know?
We would be interested in seeing the Tree of Life but wonder whether it is ‘worthwhile’ traveling for more than an hour to see a tree. I would appreciate your comments. The biggest question is how do we get around while we’re in Manama. Is there a public bus system that we can use to get from one point to another? If yes, which sight do you suggest we see first and then how do we get from there to the next sight? If yes, are they plentiful enough to get from one sight to another without having to wait for a long time?
Are there other sights you would recommend that we see in Manama or to take a Day Trip to that would only be a couple of hours’ drive away? We love art, visiting mosques we’re non Muslim , historic buildings, markets especially craft stores, and hiking. This will be our one and only chance to visit Bahrain so we’d be interested in seeing something away from the capital too but just don’t know what’s not too far away that we would like to see AND that we can get to without too much difficulty.
